Former Miami Dolphins player arrested

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. (WSVN) -- A former Miami Dolphins player has been arrested and is behind bars.

Police arrested Kenny Mixon and charged him with one count of domestic violence.

The arrest took place at Mixon's Weston home, Sunday afternoon, after allegations that he chocked his girlfriend.

In 2004, the NFL suspended Mixon for two games after being convicted of DUI.

Mixon was a member of the Dolphins from 1998-2001.
