MIAMI (AP) -- Guard Terrel Harris re-signed with the reigning NBA champion Miami Heat on Monday.

The former Oklahoma State player signed with the Heat in December as a free agent. He appeared in 22 games with Miami as a rookie, averaging 3.6 points and 2.3 rebounds. Harris also played in four games during the postseason, when the Heat ousted New York, Indiana, Boston and Oklahoma City for the franchise's second championship.

Harris' signing again with Miami was long-expected. He said shortly after the Heat won the title in June that he was hopeful of getting a chance to return.

Miami's roster now stands at 16. The team can take up to 20 players to training camp, expected to start Sept. 29.
