Irene cancels Broward's school activities
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- All outdoor school activities in Broward County have been canceled due to Hurricane Irene's potential effects.
Administrators said classes will remain in session at all Broward schools on Thursday. However, all outdoor activities, such as football games and football practice, have been canceled. All educational programs, including adult and community, have also been canceled.
Field trips are also canceled.
Before and after school child-care programs will operate as scheduled.
All normal activities will resume on Friday.
In Miami-Dade County, there are no changes for school operations as of yet.
