Local businesses help Bahamas after Irene

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- South Florida businesses continue to provide aid to the Bahamas after Hurricane Irene struck the islands.
A group of businessmen teamed up with Seatow to send essential supplies to some of the hardest hit islands. They packed planes Tuesday morning with building materials, water, food and clothing.
"There was some absolute catastrophic damage to some homes," said Scott McClary, a pilot volunteering his services. "Roofs gone, flooding, no power. People are in desperate need of some supplies and help over there in the Bahamas."
Irene was a category three storm when it slammed into the Bahamas last week, causing extensive damage. It's the first hurricane to ever hit every single island in the chain.
