Tropical Storm Chris moving over north Atlantic

MIAMI (AP) -- Tropical Storm Chris is moving over the northern Atlantic off the coast of Newfoundland but isn't posing a threat to land.

The storm's maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 kph) early Wednesday with little change in strength expected.

Tropical Storm Chris is centered about 590 miles (945 kilometers) south of Cape Race, Newfoundland, and is moving east near 17 mph (28 kph).

Forecasters say Chris is not expected to strengthen and will fizzle out Thursday.
