Venezuelan students protest outside Cuba's embassy

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) -- A group of Venezuelan students has held a protest outside the Cuban Embassy in Caracas, wearing chains and condemning what they call Cuban meddling in their country's affairs while President Hugo Chavez remains on the island undergoing cancer treatment.
Some of the students exchanged shoves with police in anti-riot gear outside the embassy. Students sang the national anthem, wearing chains and cords wrapped around their bodies and bound with locks.
Venezuelan government opponents say they believe Cuban leaders are wielding undue influence while Chavez remains in Havana more than two months after his fourth cancer-related operation. Chavez hasn't spoken or been seen since before the Dec. 11 operation.
