Crude on Campus

Posted: Updated:

WSVN -- The students in these pictures were clearly not ready for their closeups.

Student: "Oh my Jesus, that's nasty."

The unflattering photos show everything from bare backsides to exposed underwear, but even more surprising than the snapshots, the photographer was an employee at the school.

Student: "You don't do things like that. It ain't right."

The pictures appear to be taken in an office and posted on the personal Facebook page of a woman listing herself as an admissions advisor at Florida Career College.

Not only were the pictures posted, but they included nasty comments such as "At least it's not a butt crack" and "I think this takes the cake." Legal experts say the postings are out of line.

Professor Bob Jarvis, Nova Southeastern University: "Taking the pictures was definitely bad. Taking the pictures and putting them on Facebook was worse. And taking the pictures, putting them on Facebook, and adding derogatory comments, was kind of the clincher."

Bob Jarvis is a constitutional law professor at Nova Southeastern University. He says once the unsuspecting students walked into the office to conduct their business, they gained a limited expectation of privacy and clearly should not have been ridiculed.

Professor Bob Jarvis: "What at they don't expect is to have pictures taken of them and posted somewhere for the entire world to see, and they certainly don't expect to have pictures taken of them showing them in the worse possible light."

Florida Career College would not talk to us on camera, but sent this statement reading in part: "A current employee was using her personal cell phone to take inappropriate candid shots of students and posting them on her private Facebook wall. We immediately investigated the matter and terminated the employee the next day."

As for the pictures themselves, the college says they made a request to have them removed from Facebook.

Carmel Cafiero: "We don't know if the pictures have been taken down. Facebook won't comment, and the privacy settings on the employee's page no longer allow us access to the pictures."
