Seidlin Will

Posted: Updated:

WSVN -- Attorney: "Mrs. Kasler would you raise your right hand please? Do you solemnly swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help you God?"

Barbara Kasler: "Yes."

The controversy over Barbara Kasler's friendship with former Broward County Judge Larry Seidlin and his family haunted her final days.

Attorney: "When was the last time you changed your will or trust?"

Barbara Kasler died last November and now Belinda Seidlin, Larry Seidlin's wife, is making a court bid to get a portion of the estate. Seidlin is challenging the final will, which gives millions of dollars to Kasler's relatives. Belinda Seidlin claims an earlier will should be recognized that gives half the money to her and the other half to Dorothy Colletto, the girlfriend of Kasler's son, Frank.

Dorothy Colletto: "I lived with Frank almost 11 years."

She says she remained friends with Barbara Kasler after her son died.

Russell Adler: "She loved the Seidlins and Dorothy Colletto. And the two women who were everything to Mrs. Kasler are the ones she wanted to give her property to."

But Kasler's family believes that Seidlin and his wife had a plan to get Belinda in the will.

Barbara Kasler left two of her nieces money. Larry Seidlin reportedly nicknamed them the post card girls, because they sent Kasler post cards.

According to court documents, "...Larry Seidlin told Dorothy Colletto we need to get the the post card girls out of her will and get my wife in."

Colletto told me the exact same thing two years ago.

Dorothy Colletto, Former Beneficiary: "He said we need to get those postcard girls out of the will and get my wife in the will. I was absolutely flabbergasted."

The will was changed. Kasler's family was out and Belinda Seidlin was in, and that's the will Belinda Seidlin wants enforced.

Attorney Bill Scherer represent Mrs. Kasler's interests.

Bill Scherer, Kasler Attorney: "And Barbara did not wish for the Seidlins and Colletto, the girlfriend of her deceased son, to inherit the property."

Carmel Cafiero: "Each side here believes the other exerted undue influence over the elderly widow. It will NOW be up to a judge in Palm Beach County to decide - what Barbara Kasler "really" wanted."
