Cyber Monday

Posted: Updated:

WSVN -- Forget Black Friday frenzy.

Amit Dharmani, Online Shopper: "I'll probably be cruising gilt.com. Probably be looking at groupon.com, too."

For online shopping fans, the day to find deals is Cyber Monday.

Samantha Debianchi, Online Shopper: "It's more efficient, it's more effective. I can really get exactly what I want, and I know when I'm getting it."

Amit and Samantha always do the majority of their holiday shopping on Cyber Monday, and they're not alone.

Regina Novickis, SurfMyAds.com: "In 2010, sales exceeded $1 billion, which is a larger amount than online sales on Black Friday."

Consumer savings expert Regina Novickis says the Cyber Monday "secret" is out.

Regina Novickis, SurfMyAds.com: "Cyber Monday deals are comparable, if not better, than those found on Black Friday. The great thing is that retailers are already planning to offer sale prices, but on top of that, they can assess what they sold on Black Friday and slash prices even further on Cyber Monday."

Amit says the key to finding great deals is to do your homework.

Amit Dharmani, Online Shopper: "If you really want to take advantage of a great deal, it's charting it out the night before."

Samantha also takes time to compare prices.

Samantha Debianchi, Online Shopper: "If I know that it's a certain brand, I will Google that brand, put a description in, and suddenly, every single search, every store that has it will pop up immediately."

The experts say Cyber Monday shoppers should also create a budget and a list of what they want and stick to it. And try to use coupons and special offers.

Regina Novickis, SurfMyAds.com: "If you go to sites like freeshippingcoupons.com or promotionalcodes.com, you can find all of these offers aggregated in one place."

And just like going to the mall for a big sale, get to your favorite online stores early.

Amit Dharmani, Online Shopper: "A lot of these deals are limited quantity, so if you're not there early, you're not going to take advantage of the full potential of the deal."

Taking advantage of holiday deals without the hassle of holiday crowds.

Samantha Debianchi, Online Shopper: "People are realizing that all these things that they're doing on Black Friday, and going to the mall in general, they can just do noise-free, stress-free at home."

Lynn Martinez: "This year, Cyber Monday sales are expected to stretch out into the week."
