I Am The Maven

Posted: Updated:

WSVN -- Whitney Zimet has made it her mission to check out local businesses that's because...

Whitney Zimet: "I am the maven."

Whitney's website is called I Am The Maven, and she started it because she loves to shop local and find the best places for one-of-a-kind finds.

Whitney Zimet: "I really want to be the filter and find the best places and feature those places."

And then she gets those specialty stores to offer up sweet deals for her clients.

Whitney Zimet: "Every dollar is precious and so why not spend your money at exceptional local businesses where you're gonna have hopefully a very good experience."

From children's clothing, consignment to cupcakes, swim lessons to tutoring, The Maven gives you the scoop.

Patsy Linares: "She always picks the best places."

Patsy Linares uses Maven coupons whenever she goes shopping.

Patsy Linares: "I can go straight there I know what's available and I know I'm saving money especially in this economy."

Today she saved 20 percent on her favorite lingerie.

Patsy Linares: "It adds up. It really adds up for us."

And Whitney likes to know she is helping savvy shoppers find the deals they deserve.

Whitney Zimet: "Its just so much fun and who doesn't like saving money?"

Lynn Martinez: "The maven website also sends coupons via e-mail."
