WSVN -- The sunshine and fabulous beaches are free, but it seems everything else in South Florida is expensive.

Well, you and your kids will be singing a different tune at the Arsht Center. It holds regular Family Fests, which is a free series featuring music, dance and art.

To find out when the next free performance is, just go online, sign up for their mailing list, put in the word "free," and you'll get a schedule of shows that run throughout the year.

If you want dinner for the family after the theater, you can get that too. Denny's is serving up adult meals with a side order of freebies for the kiddies.

Ricardo Fercilien, Denny's customer: "We come here all the time, at least three times a week, and the kids eat free."

Families can also save by going to the right pharmacy. At Publix, customers can get eight different antibiotics and diabetes medication for free, including refills.

Kim Jaeger, Publix: "Anybody qualifies, as long as you have a valid prescription from your doctor."

From drugs to bugs, Truly Nolen is offering a free bedbug inspection.

Dan Marin, Truly Nolen: "We come out and do a thorough inspection of your house."

You just never know where the little buggers will hide.

Dan Marin: "Better safe than sorry."

And just in time for the holidays, BJ's is offering a two-month free membership. Just sign up at the service desk.

Bryan Loughney, Manager, BJ's Wholesale Club: "I think there's a lot of retailers offering a lot of different things right now this time of the year, and there's great values to be had out there."

OK, caffeine junkies. This next one is for you. You can pick up a free 12-ounce cup of coffee at Burger King on Friday mornings for the rest of November.

And foodies, it's a free-for-all for you at Whole Foods.

Vanessa Hassele, Whole Foods: "You can sign up for free classes."

Like how to roll sushi or learn about wine and cheese pairings.

Vanessa Hassele: "In this economy, who can't use something free?"

Events run throughout the year. Sign up at the store or online.
