New Year's Eve Parties

Posted: Updated:

WSVN -- South Florida does everything in big style, including ringing in the new year.

As usual, the Fontainebleau Hotel will be hosting one of the biggest parties of 2011.

Last year, it was Lady Gaga. This year, world-famous DJ Tiesto will bring down the house poolside.

Jeffrey Klein, Fontainebleau Hotel: "Tiesto is the DJ who is at the top of his game. He is cult-like. He has a following. He puts on an amazing show, not just music but lighting. It is a full, 3-hour show."

If that's not your style, the hotel is wall-to-wall entertainment for the big night.

Jeffrey Klein: "This year in Liv, we've got Jamie Foxx hosting with Cascade, who is a world-renowned DJ. Arkadia, which is our new lounge, has Fat Boy Slim."

If you don't want to shell out any cash, the people-watching is always free at the hotel's trendy Blue Bar.

You can start the new year with one of the biggest names in hip-hop right now.

"W" South Beach will count down to 2011 with Drake at Wet on New Year's Eve. Expect a big bash there.

Another hip-hop favorite, Nicki Minaj, is hosting at club Mansion.

Spoiler alert: expect all-pink decor in Nicki's honor, including cotton candy machines and all the waitresses will be wearing butt pads in an homage to Nicki's infamous derriere.

Joshua Wagner, Morgans Hotel Group: "We're doing something called 'Royal Madness' at Delano, which will include the entire property, including the Florida Room."

For the first time in years, the historic Delano Hotel is throwing a big ticketed party. Expect the unexpected.

Joshua Wagner: "We have teamed up with Suzanne Barsh, legendary party thrower. We'll have a boat in the pool, and we'll have decorations and people hanging from pillars. It is a full-blown assault of the senses."

Up north in Fort Lauderdale, the W Hotel is masked in excitement for the big night.

Mara Stamper, W Hotel, Ft. Lauderdale: "We're actually going to do a masquerade ball. It's going to be a one-ticket event to both venues, Whiskey Blue and The Living Room. We're going to have open bar from 8 to 12."

You'll get masked as soon as you walk through the door.

And if you want a meal before you party, you can dine at Steak 954.

Mara Stamper: "Steak 954 is actually featuring an a la carte menu, so it won't be a flat fee. Just make your reservations in advance."

So say farewell to 2010 and hello to a stylish new year.

Belkys Nerey: "In true South Florida style, pretty much every event is a ticketed event with prices ranging from $125 and up."
