WSVN -- You've heard of Sobe Nobe and maybe even the MiMo District. Now, here's a new one for you: "Nobri" short for north of Brickell it's a small section of Downtown just north of Brickell and south of northeast 2nd Street booming with food and fun.
Juan Chipoco: "We create something new. Nobody thought this place was going to be a success."
But if success is based on numbers stop by "Cvi.Che 105" on northeast 3rd Avenue and you'll see almost every table filled with customers. Chef Juan Chipoco had a vision of what "Nobri" could become three years ago.
Juan Chipoco: "I'm so proud to be here and I'm so happy."
His restaurant offers authentic Peruvian food with a twist and a huge ceviche bar like you've never seen.
Juan Chipoco: "The ceviche comes from South America, Lima or Chile or from Miami. We bring all our peppers, limes from Lima, Peru so everything is fresh. It's not frozen, so it makes a whole different taste on the plate."
Sebastian Alegrett: "I love this place, it's close to my office. The food is terrific. The ambiance is great."
The truth is you can find pretty much any sort of food you crave in nobri if you want Italian check out the tiny, family-run restaurant "fratelli milano." This place oozes with Italian goodness. Or if you're into asian flavor there's "zuma" an upscale restaurant from London now open at the Epic Hotel.
Johanna Ponzio: "The restaurants are getting better and better. We really enjoy it."
But the newest addition solidifying the "Nobri" scene is the "JW Marriott Marquis Miami" where famous chef Daniel Boulud just opened his restaurant "DB Bistro Moderne."
Daniel Boulud: "DB Bistro is a cross between a bistro and a brasserie and definitely with classic dishes representing the cooking I love which is French, but with an American twist to it."
The restaurant is made up of three rooms all with different vibes.
Daniel Boulud: "I would say one room is more New York, one room is Parisian, one room is Miami. So we get it all."
The new hotel itself has a lot to offer the 19th and 20th floors are an entertainment complex packed with an NBA approved basketball court, virtual bowling alley, and a billiard room.
You can even take golf lessons at their "Jim Mclean Golf School."
Mariano Bartolome: "If you really want to improve your game, this is the place to come. We have a studio, a teaching bay, we have a simulator with the simulator we can put it in different modes, we can use it as a practice range, for putting, to play a course."
Tons of fun so call it what you want but nobri is a name you'll want to remember.
Belkys Nerey: "There are so many new restaurants in nobri that we could not include them all."
