WSVN — New Year's Eve in South Florida is more than fireworks and a ball drop.
Some of our area hot spots are rocking out '09 in high style.
Try keeping a poker face over this one, the Fontainebleau Miami Beach is going ga-ga for New Year's Eve!
Scott Flexman, Fontainebleau Miami Beach: "We've got Lady Gaga coming, one of the most amazing artists in the U.S now. We're going to have a big party out by the pool … We'll have DJs going until about 11:30. Then, Lady GaGa is going to take the stage. She's going to do the ball drop, then she'll do some entertaining. We're hoping she'll do 'Poker Face,' one of her top songs."
For a different beat, say goodbye to '09 at the Mondrian Hotel.
Singer Macy Gray, along with a 20-piece orchestra, will perform a concert on the bay with fireworks in the backdrop.
Joshua Wagner, Mondrian Hotel: "Orchestra will be set up with incredible lighting on them, with Macy Gray in front. She'll be there like a concert hall. The backdrop is the bay."
At the Ritz-Carlton South Beach, ring in 2010 ocean front, under the stars at the Dilido Beach Club.
"New Year's Eve falls under a full moon, and we're taking advantage of that."
They're throwing a full moon bash with everything you need for moonlit merriment!
"There's going to be telescopes, aromatic hookahs that are going to be complimentary. There's going to be specialty cocktails starting at $7 to $18, and best of all, premiere location with free admission for that night.
The W Hotel in Fort Lauderdale is throwing a multi-level party where you get two places for the price of one.
Monica Burgos, W Hotel Fort Lauderdale: "Your ticket gets you admission to Whiskey Blue and also to our third level Living Room. There's DJs spinning in both areas, and there's open bar from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m."
Also in Fort Lauderdale, you can bet on a good time at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. For all you shiny, happy people, they've got the B-52s performing.
Ryan Rogers, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino: "The B-52s are performing at Hard Rock Live, and then, after the show, they're doing the New Year's Eve countdown at the center bar in the casino. It's a fun band for New Year's. That's what we're looking for, just something everyone can dance to and enjoy."
At the Delano Hotel in South Beach, there's a free poolside party, featuring up-and-coming artist Rye Rye.
