Beauty Sample Bar

Posted: Updated:

WSVN -- We've all done it, shelled out a bunch of cash on a beauty product, then got home and discovered it was the wrong product for our skin or hair.

Dana Berkowitz: "I have so many products in my house that I've never even touched."

Jennifer Doan: "I have had allergic reactions to things. I bought a mascara to lengthen lashes, then I was just itchy the next day."

Now, NewBeauty Magazine has come up with a brilliant plan for us to sample products before we spend a lot of money on them.

Stephanie Brady: "Nowadays, with women, they really want to try something in order to see how it works on their skin, before they buy it."

Check out the Sample Bar at Aventura Mall, it's a vending machine where you can purchase test tubes of some of the top beauty products.

Stephanie Brady: "We have everything from Peter Thomas Roth, Dr. Brandt, Pevonia, Super Smile and a lot of top names that are on the market nowadays."

It works just like a traditional vending machine. You simply swipe your credit card or put in your cash, and then choose from more than 40 different samples of skin, body and hair products. For $3 to $10, you get a very large sample.

Stephanie Brady: "Most of the sizes of the products that are inside of there will last you two weeks."

Stefany Baldassarra: "It's not one of those little, little samples, so I think it's a good idea. Good on the price."

Jennifer Doan: "$10 or less. I mean, who's going to argue with that?"

And it's already getting a lot of stops and stares from mall shoppers.

Dana Berkowitz: "I stopped because I've never seen a vending machine that didn't have candy or drinks in it, and then when I saw it had beauty supplies in it, that's awesome. I think it is an incredible concept. I've got the Phyto hair straightening stuff that I've actually used it before, but this is cheaper than the big thing of it."

The other bonus, there are no sales pitches, and it's quick.

Randy Marta: "I think it saves me some time going into the store."

So go ahead, try it before you buy it. You've got only got a few bucks to lose.

Belkys Nerey: "The Sample Bar is located between Nordstrom and JCPenny, on the second floor of Aventura Mall. New Beauty is also hoping to put the machines in airports for travelers."
