WSVN — There's a DJ spinning tunes. People dancing and sipping champagne! Nope it's not a nightclub. It's a new salon and spa in Bay Harbor Islands.
1160 Hair is one of those places you really have to see to believe. Every room is wild and whimsical, decorated like something from a fairy tale book.
Laura Carr: "I want the decorator's name. I'd like to have my house done or at least bedroom done like this."
From a Moroccan-themed pedicure room fit for an exotic princess to a fun hallway with scratch and sniff wallpaper.
Liza Barker, owner, 1160 Hair: "This is our cherry, which smells absolutely delicious, wish you guys could smell it. Then we finished it off with the wonderful fruit ceiling."
The treatments are just as decadent, like this coffee and chocolate pedicure where you're scrubbed and rubbed with chocolate and coffee-flavored products.
Linda Fruits, Customer: "You smell this rich scent of chocolate and coffee, which every girl loves!"
Liza Barker: "It comes with a beautiful plate of chocolate strawberries and chocolate truffles, and then we give you a choice of gourmet coffee or a glass of champagne with a strawberry."
Of course, hair is the big focus here, from creative cuts to funky color. There's even a color bar where you'll sip on bubbly while your hair color is processing.
Liza Barker: "Thursday and Fridays we basically turn into a nice little nightclub. We have DJ Mark Leventhal. Everyone is sipping champagne, and as you can see, the stylists are dancing and getting into it."
If you want to escape the craziness, get a relaxing hair treatment in the wash room that's decorated with a fireplace, green grass and a red moose!
Liza Barker: "With the music, we did a really nice thunder and rain in here, so when you come in you close your eyes, you put your head back, the chairs have massagers."
So, whether you go to unwind or hang out with dancing stylists, it's the new mane attraction.
A spa is opening on the second floor of 1160 Hair sometime soon.
