Ruthless and Toothless

Posted: Updated:

WSVN -- You know the tattoo crew of Love Hate studios from all their adventures on their reality show Miami Ink. Well, now the tough guys aren't just inking up adults, they're focusing on tats for tots.

Darren Brass: "The designs we try to make soft enough but still with an edge to them."

Don't worry, they're not tattooing kids. They're designing clothes for them since two of the artists, Darren and Yoji, recently became new dads.

Darren Brass: "It's the best thing I have ever done in my life."

The only problem, the guys couldn't find kids clothes that fit the edgy lifestyle of a tattoo artist.

Darren Brass: "When we were looking for clothes for our kids, there was just nothing there. It was just the same old thing."

So that's when the idea came up for their new infant and kid's line, Ruthless and Toothless. The line includes anything from infant onesies, hoodies, girls' dresses and hats, even cool stuff like skateboards and cell phone covers.

Joey Hernandez, CEO, Ruthless & Toothless: "It's for the collecting parent and the creative child."

The designs are a far cry from their racy or scary adult tattoos. Many of the characters on the kid's clothes are cartoonish figures, like doe-eyed dragons, tigers and a snaggle-toothed skull.

Chris Garver: "I started watching a lot of cartoons and just trying to get in touch with my childish mind, artistically."

Darren Brass: "Like, I watch my boy Cassius, and when he looks at me draw something, I see what he reacts to."

While the new fathers love their tots to wear their tattoo-inspired clothes, some of them don't feel the same way about their kids getting inked one day.

Yoji Harada: "No, no tattoo for her. I'm sorry."

The Ruthless and Toothless line ranges from $10 to $60.
