WSVN — Some people have no idea what they want to do with their life, but Sherly Belizaire had a plan.
Evan Belizaire: "She was in school about two weeks left to graduate. She worked as a bank teller in Hialeah."
Whether it was work or school or church, Sherly always did the right thing then one time ended up in the wrong place.
Capt. Rafael Suarez: "Why the overkill? Why shoot at somebody so many times."
Sherly was with a guy who stopped at his home to run in and get a cell phone battery. Sherly stayed in the car and a gunman was hiding in the bushes and started firing at her.
Capt. Rafael Suarez: "They were after somebody they were targeting somebody."
The crime scene photos show 38 shots fired at Sherly. 12 hit her, Evan rushed to the emergency room to see her.
Evan Belizaire: "If you can hear me blink your eyes and she was able to blink her eyes three times to me and after that I saw that tears were coming out of her eyes."
Sherly suffered horribly, living for two weeks with her chest cut open an arm and a leg were amputated and then her body gave up and she died..
Rosemarie Belizaire: "This is something that destroyed my whole life. When I look at myself I don't have a heart anymore, it's gone."
Patrick Fraser: "The killer ended Sherly's life, destroyed her families life and so far has baffled detectives not only are they unable to identify the murderer, they cant be sure of why he targeted Sherly. Although Evan thinks he has an answer."
Evan Belizaire: "I heard something that was something that he owe someone."
Evan suspects the man who Sherly was with that night owed the wrong people money. They killed Sherly to get him to pay. The man may know something, but he isn't telling detectives.
Capt. Rafael Suarez: "If he gets to a point where he says no I don't want to talk to you and we can't force him."
It's frustrating and infuriating for Sherlys Family and for detectives. Everybody says stop the criminals, but police cant do it alone.
Capt. Rafael Suarez: "We as a police department cannot work alone we need the citizens help."
Evan is convinced somebody could help do something about it and help catch a crazed killer.
Evan Belizaire:: "I know somebody knows what happened. Call and give the detective some information about the case cause you never know it could be your family next day."
Don't be afraid of a killer. There is a reward, you can be anonymous and stop this person before they shoot someone 38 times.
