WSVN — Martin Amado: “On today’s Room for Improvement we’re taking a bland bedroom and punching up the style factor. At the moment the room is overcrowded with way to much furniture, and let’s be honest, it also appears a bit dated, beginning with the carpet. Well that’s all about to change in one day.

Martin Amado: “All right, so we began the makeover literally from scratch. We installed brand new hardwood floors. Painted the walls this beautiful aqua color, and all that’s left is the fun part, the decorating. Lets begin.”

Martin Amado: “Wall paper is a big design trend when it comes to decorating, but if you’re afraid of the commitment and the expense you can achieve, the same look for less on the walls by using a stencil.”

Martin Amado: “Now the key to do this right so that the paint doesn’t bleed under the stencil is to use as little paint as possible.”

Martin Amado: “This looks great, don’t you think? It’s a very subtle design but it makes a beautiful focal point behind the bed.”

Martin Amado: “Awesome. I love the combination of textures between the wood blinds and the upholstered headboard.”

Martin Amado: “By using two different night stands we break up the matchy matchy look of an actual bedroom set. More eclectic this way.”

Martin Amado: “Nothing like two pair of lamps to really add balance and symmetry to this side of the space.”

Martin Amado: “I really love using an area rug at the foot of the bed because it helps to define the space, especially on top of a hardwood floors.”

Martin Amado: “Gorgeous.”

Martin Amado: “If your looking for unique art work for your walls, look no further than your home improvement center. I found these beautiful glass mosaic tiles and all I’m doing is placing them inside these frames.”

Martin Amado: “Something as simple as switching out your closet doors can make a big statement in a bedroom. I love these.”

Martin Amado: “Floating shelves like this one are a great way to add additional display surfaces without having bulky furniture in the bedroom.”

Martin Amado: “A vintage suitcase like this one is a great way to add additional storage in any bedroom space. Remember these are great finds at a thrift store or even a garage sale. We are done.”

Martin Amado: “This morning my client was unhappy with unhappy with her bedroom space. So, we literally started with a blank canvas. We installed new flooring, paint, closet doors, and of course all the decorative accessories help to reflect a more bohemian seek style that she absolutely loves. Hope that you guys like it too. Until next time I’m Martin Amado for seven news.”
