Miami continuing to work on compliance

AP Sports Writer

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) - For Miami, the waiting for the NCAA decision is over.

The process of not getting into this sort of compliance mess again is not.

Exactly 100 pages into the NCAA's public infractions report that was released Tuesday about the Miami case is a listing of all the corrective measures that the Hurricanes took in an effort to start fixing their compliance shortfalls.

The school was found to have lacked institutional control over many areas, most notably the interactions that convicted felon Nevin Shapiro had with the athletics department when he was a Hurricane booster.

Miami athletic director Blake James says continuing to educate students, staff and even fans will be vital on the path to ensuring something like this doesn't happen again.
