WSVN — Fort Lauderdale’s nightlife scene is taking off and in tonight’s Style File, 7s Belkys Nerey takes us to some new hot spots.
It’s an area of Downtown Fort Lauderdale that you may not know about but Fat Village should definitely be on your radar.
Joshua Miller-Executive Director of C&I Studios: “Fat Village is a mini-Wynwood of Fort Lauderdale. It stands for Fine Arts & Technology. It’s a street full of galleries and creative agencies.”
C&I studios which is a production studio has taken half of their huge warehouse space and turned it into a bar and a coffee shop called Next Door.
Joshua Miller-Executive Director of C&I Studios: “During the day we house Brew Urban Cafe. It’s a coffee shop from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. You could be hanging out with your friends, watching someone do a photo shoot”
Every Friday and Saturday night and on the nights of Miami Heat games, the space transforms into a cool bar with a floor-to-ceiling bookshelf. It looks like a hip library and all the drinks are even named after writers.
Joshua Miller-Executive Director of C&I Studios: “You can order the Maya Angelou, you can order the Aaron Sorkin, the Jane Austen. We also have a straight edge menu for those who don’t drink.”
And raise your glass to this when the train rolls by everyone gets a free shot.
Another boost to Fort Lauderdale’s nightlife scene is Himmarshee Public House, which is located in the entertainment district.
Marc Falsetto-Public House: “We are an upscale sports lounge, a full-blown restaurant, and then we morph into a nightlife scene after midnight.”
This place is a sports fan’s dream with tons of TV’s including this big daddy.
Marc Falsetto-Owner, Public House: “It’s over 300 inches. It’s a jumbotron similar to what you see at the Dolphin’s stadium.”
Don’t expect bar food here public house is chef and food-driven.
Marc Falsetto-Owner, Public House: “We’re doing fried chicken street tacos and a lot of stuff with bacon. Our take on lobster nachos. Lobster, guacamole, a habanero mango salsa, and whole chunks of Maine lobster. Every nacho is going to be the perfect bite.”
Alaina Scerbo-Customer: “Big flat screen TV’s, full liquor bar, and there’s pretty ladies. I think this is a good one stop shop.”
Another cool, new place for a night out in Fort Lauderdale is Bar Stache which is like a 1920’s speakeasy.
