The program is an effort to reduce the number of non-native species that are being released into the wild by pet owners who can no longer take care of them.

Wednesday, they previewed the event which will take place Saturday at the Fort Lauderdale Research and Education Center in Davie from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
