MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police have released surveillance video of Justin Bieber moments after he arrived at the Miami Beach Police Department's holding cell during his South Florida visit last month.

The surveillance video, released Thursday, shows Bieber in the processing area talking off his sweatshirt, then patted down by a Miami Beach Police officer, in the early morning hours of Jan. 23.

Bieber cooperated with the police officer and listened to instructions and commands.

The pop star was arrested on DUI charges. Bieber's breathalyzer test showed he blew a .014 percent, a small amount of blood alcohol in his system. His toxicology report, however, showed he tested positive for marijuana and Xanax.

Bieber's friend, R&B artist Khalil Amir Sharieff, was also arrested with Bieber.

7News spoke with Miami Beach Police Chief Raymond Martinez, who defended his officers in this case. "During that morning, I had met with the officers," he said, "and I was very confident, extremely confident, that they followed it by the book."

There has been some controversy over Bieber's drag racing report. After Bieber was taken into custody, it was reported that a GPS on his rented yellow Lamborghini indicated that he was not driving at a high rate of speed.

Miami Beach Police said, when Bieber was driving the Lamborghini, he was speeding through a quiet neighborhood.

Bieber was then taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where he was booked. The 19-year-old singer was released on $2,500 bond.

Bieber has a court date set for March 3 to face his DUI charges.
