Pinecrest officer who failed to render aid faces termination

Posted: Updated:

PINECREST, Fla. (WSVN) -- A Pinecrest police officer who failed to assist two University of Miami students after a car crash could soon find herself off the force.

Dashcam video captured officer Ana Carrasco responding to the scene of an accident where two people were hit by a car.

The department launched an internal investigation after allegations surfaced she had failed to render aid to the victims.

The Pinecrest Police Chief recommended she be fired, but it is unclear if Carrasco will appeal that decision.

The crash happened at the corner of Southwest 68th Court and Kendall Drive in October of last year. Both victims, UM students, died in the accident.
