Nostalgic Drinks at Kitchen 305

Posted: Updated:

Remember Kool-Aid, Hi-C, Tang and all those sugary drinks you loved as a kid? Well, Kitchen 305 on Sunny Isles Beach is mixing up some powerful libations featuring all the colorful stuff you slurped as a child.

Wanna regress and chill like child with a something slurpalicious? Check out Kitchen 305 in the newport on Sunny Isles Beach.

Jonathan Hanzas: "We're trying to bring out the kid in everyone again. We're doing this Nostalgic Nips Happy Hour. Featuring drinks from our childhood that you might have carried in your lunchbox at school such as Hawaiian Punch, Tang and Hi-C cooler."

Got a hankering' for Hi-C? Try the Hi-C cooler.

Dante Delgado: "It's fruit punch. You know who doesn't remember growing up addicted to fruit punch? A little Midori, apple liquor. A little Sprite, some Hi-C fruit punch and a touch of lime juice."

Shake, garnish and sip slowly. It's got a kick, kids. Not that kids should be drinking it it's got even more punch with Vodka and Ameretto too. Yumm, and this one's suh-weet.

Jonathan Hanzas: "This is our brown cow martini, everybody loves chocolate milk especially Nesquik."

HERSHEY'S syrup, whiskey and Baileys, Kahlua and Nesquik...chocolicious. A throwback to a time when sugar wasn't yet the devil incarnate.

Jonathan Hanzas: "Now every thing's no sugar this and no calorie this so we're trying to give you a little taste of that sugar again you know."

Try a sippy cup, but bring your own bottle. Try a tang-tini with vodka and the orange powdered stuff the astronauts slurped. And check out the gin and juicy juice.

Jonathan Hanzas: "We want you to have fun like a kid but think like an adult and drink responsibly so you don't end up face down in the sandbox with some purple dinosaur hovering over you."

I'll never forget the endless summers I spent on the coast of North Carolina. My shoulders were always kissed by the sun, my hair was continually salty from the ocean and my one-piece, bright blue bathing suit was my constant companion.

The last time I had on a pair of overalls, I was miles from civilization with a whip in my hand, an hysterical co-worker by my side and five angry cowboys staring me down.

I don't remember dying, but I did. Twice. It was a chilly Fall morning in October at a dentist's office in Santa Fe. My mom had escorted me to what was supposed to be a regular wisdom teeth extraction appointment.

Some people are good at putting out fires. They're called firefighters. Others are good at baking pies. They're called bakers. But one man is excellent at both. He's a crusty firefighter, and we mean that in a really good way.

One tough chick in a group of boys trying to escape a maze-enclosed, post-apocalyptic world where not one of them has any memory of how they got there. So far, that's what we've figured out about the newest sci-fi flick about to hit the big screen. We sent Deco's Liz Nagy out to watch.
