PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (AP) - Reed Johnson hit a two-run single to highlight a five-run sixth inning as the Miami Marlins' split-squad team beat the New York Mets 9-1 Saturday.

Lucas Duda hit a towering homer to right-center field for the Mets' lone run in the fourth.

Duda is competing with Ike Davis to be New York's first baseman. Davis hit a home run against Washington on Friday.

Marlins starter Kevin Slowey and Mets starter John Lannan, both non-roster invitees competing to be fifth starters, each pitched two scoreless innings. Slowey allowed one hit and struck out four. Lannan allowed one hit and struck out three.

The Mets committed three errors, one by Duda. Mets reliever John Church threw three wild pitches in an inning.
