2 injured after car crashes into pharmacy

Posted: Updated:

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (WSVN) -- Two people have been injured after a car crashed into a pharmacy.

The car plowed through the entrance of Cutler Pharmacy, at the intersection of Madeira Avenue and Ponce De Leon Boulevard, just after 4 p.m. Monday.

A 30-year-old woman was driving in the area when she swerved after another car cut her off. She then went over the sidewalk and crashed into the front of the pharmacy. "We heard the car screeching, a long screech. It was getting closer and closer. Then, all of a sudden, 'Boom!' the car was in the store, glass was flying, things were flying everywhere. It was very fast," said store customer Gretel Vinas.

Two people inside the building suffered minor injuries; the driver is OK.

The vehicle has been towed from the scene. The store is cleaning up the debris left by the crash.

Police continue to investigate, and the driver has not been cited, at this time.
