Man shot at bar after declining sale of drugs

Posted: Updated:

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are looking for a gunman who allegedly shot a man after offering him drugs.

Patrons at Sweeney's Lounge in Pembroke Park scattered after a shooting that left one man with a gunshot wound and his girlfriend lucky to have escaped injury.

Surveillance video from last Saturday, at around 9:30 a.m., shows 23-year-old Andy Cruz and his 19-year-old girlfriend, Jillian Terrero, walking outside the bar, behind a group of young men.

According to Cruz, one of the men offered to sell him drugs. Cruz declined and an argument ensued. Then, one the men snatched Terrero's cell phone from her hands and fired two shots at her. Both missed Terrero, but Cruz was shot once in the upper thigh.

Cruz has since been treated and released from the hospital. However, police continue to look for the shooter, who was clearly caught in the surveillance video, wearing a red T-shirt. He is described as a short black male with facial hair and long dreadlocks.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of this man, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.

Here in So-Flo, we like to hang out half naked, especially in the summer, which is why eating healthy is so important to keep that bod in shape. I know eating healthy can be so boring. I mean, I wanna look good and feel good, but I don't wanna give up taste. I just found a healthy new joint that's both delicious and has me seriously considering becoming a vegan.
