Man trapped after crashing into light pole

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (WSVN) -- Rescue crews have airlifted a man to the hospital after he crashed into a light pole in Miami Gardens and became trapped inside his car.

The man slammed into a light pole at Northeast 10th Avenue and Miami Gardens Drive, Wednesday morning.

The pole crashed down on the car and left the driver with no way out. Fire rescue crews had to cut the top off the vehicle to free the man from the wreck.

He was was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
