Wilton Manors Burglar arrested, stolen items recovered

Posted: Updated:

WILTON MANORS, Fla. (WSVN) -- A Broward Sheriff's Office burglary task force uncovered an illegal treasure trove inside a Wilton Manors apartment Friday.

Computers, cell phones, iPads, a plethora of designer sunglasses, and the keys to a Maserati were among the items stashed inside Ryan Burgan's apartment. Hundreds of stolen items were recovered by the Broward Sheriff's office.

According to deputies, a lot of the stolen items came from car burglaries throughout Palm Beach and Broward counties.

Police arrested Ryan Burgan. Officials said that criminals would bring the stolen items to Burgan's apartment in Wilton Manors. From his residence, Burgan would resell the stolen merchandise. "This guy was running a pawn shop out of his house. The way he bought the stuff, he bought it cheap. He'd buy a $30 phone and sell it for $100," said a Broward deputy.

Police found multiple sets of car keys inside Burgan's residence. "They may have come out of the city of Light House Point. They broke into some unlocked vehicles, and instead of stealing the vehicles, they stole the keys with the intention of coming back at another time to steal the vehicles," said the deputy.

The Broward Sheriff's Office Burglary Apprehension Team is a brand new task force that is only three days old. They are responsible for cataloguing all of the merchandise. The task force hopes that victims will see this and come forward.

According to BSO, "there is stuff that is definitely traceable. An iPhone for example, belongs to somebody. It was taken in a vehicle burglary or home burglary. We're hoping to be able to contact Apple to get the information and get the phone back to its rightful owner."

People who believe that their items may have been stolen in either Palm Beach and Broward Counties are encouraged to call the police department or the Broward Sheriff's Office. Preferably wherever they filed their police report.

People can request to find out whether any of the stolen and recovered property belongs to them.

You can work up a great big hunger when you're an action hero, especially if you're playing a guy who's half man, half god. Dwyane "The Rock" Johnson gets really hungry in his latest movie, "Hercules." Our So-Flo homeboy had to stay pretty jacked for the role. That meant watching his diet, but when it was finally time to let loose, he knew just where to go.
