HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (WSVN) -- A YouTube sensation is putting a positive spin on receiving medical care, bringing pure happiness to the patients and staff of a South Florida hospital.

The little patients and staff at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital are causing a viral sensation with the music video they produced to Pharrell's hit song, "Happy."

"They forgot that the camera was there," said digital media specialist Geo Rodriguez, "and they were just hamming it up, especially the first little boy Aaron."

Little Aaron is not the only star. The video was actually created to highlight Child Life Month, celebrating the specialists who work with the kids and their families to take the stress and fear away from being in the hospital.

"So we all sat down and had a meeting and decided that we wanted to video us and the staff making the kids happy, and what better song than the Pharrell song 'Happy?'" said certified child life specialist Shannon McCarthy.

One might say making the video is just what the doctor ordered. The kids were super happy with the results and already feel like movie stars. "Everyone that we run into wants our autographs because they saw us in the video," said McCarthy. "All the kids are so happy they send links to their family and friends so everyone can enjoy the video."

The video's been up on YouTube since Friday and already has more than 4,000 views. The child life specialists said they wanted to make the video to show that the hospital doesn't have to be a sad place. It can also be happy.

"Happy" was featured on the soundtrack for the animated feature "Despicable Me 2" and received an Oscar nomination for best original song. It lost to "Let It Go" from the Disney film "Frozen."
