St. Patrick's Day food and drinks preview

Posted: Updated:
Going green on St. Patrick's Day isn't just about green beer, it's about green everything. We found some spots that will have your pals green with envy when they find out how you spent St. Patrick's Day.

Raise a glass and toast the folks at Sugarcane in Mid Town, 'cause they're sticking a tongue out at traditional St. Patty's Day food.

Blake Eikenberg: "Since we aren't your typical St. Patty destination like a pub, we aren't doing your typical fare."

Move over corned beef and cabbage, Sugarcane is serving up corned-beef tongue and Brussels sprout.

Blake Eikenberg: "The corn beef and cabbage very traditional and very Irish. The corn beef tongue is just a play on that."

For St. Patty's they're keeping up with the kale trend.

Blake Eikenberg: "We are doing our version of Bloody Mary with kale juice, lemon, gin and green chartreuse. Something that would revive you after a long night of drinking in this case it would be preparing you for a long night of drinking."

Over at the Mandarin Oriental, MO Bar isn't wasting any time getting in the St. Patty's Day spirit. Forget regular beer, sip a classic Irish coffee made with Whiskey, hot coffee, cream and a chocolate clover dusted on top.

Angleo Vieira: "It's a hot drink. It's a pick me up drink. It's a drink where you want to get going. Get a little caffeine buzz in there and the whiskey, it's beautiful."

Wolfgang's Steakhouse in Downtown Miami will have you seeing green with their take on St. Patrick's Day.

Bobby Marrano: "We have a luck of the Irish cocktail. We are serving for the entire night. It's a little bit of a twist on the Irish green beer. We are trying to do Miami trend down here. its a little bit tropical.

Their luck of the Irish is magically delicious.

Bobby Marrano: "The luck of the Irish cocktail is Midori, Malibu Rum, pineapple served on the rocks. We thought it would be a nice twist and make things a little different."

Sushi Samba is known for it's fusion of Peruvian, Brazilian and Japanese cuisine so what's another country in the mix?

Carlos Portocarrero: "Being U.S. in an international city and paying homage to our Irish back back, back grounds we will be here trying to represent."

Here the fish isn't green the stuff around it is.

Carlos Portocarrero: "Sushi Samaba will be adding green to our menu and our plates. We will have an Oba Q Roll and a Bossa Nova Roll there is always green in Brazil."

It may not be easy being green, but it sure is tasty.

Carlos Portocarrero: "It's not Irish food it's just a nod to the Irish culture."

I don't remember dying, but I did. Twice. It was a chilly Fall morning in October at a dentist's office in Santa Fe. My mom had escorted me to what was supposed to be a regular wisdom teeth extraction appointment.

Kindness and charm, unlike the people that live in Sin City, and i'm not talking about Vegas either. Things have changed in the town of Sin as in the motion picture while others have stayed the same. The cast of the movie told Deco what's new in part two.?

This year's Miami Spice could use a phone book just to list the restaurants taking part, more than a hundred. Which means filling up on three courses for only $39 bucks. And at some places, that means saving a whole lot of money.
