NEAR FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- South Florida police officers put on their helmets and took to the road to remember fallen comrades.

The annual, weeklong Fallen Officers' State Ride kicked off Saturday. The motorcycle ride commemorates the lives of those killed in the line of duty.

In 2013, four Florida officers lost their lives, including BSO Deputy Daniel Rivera, who passed away from his injuries after his cruiser crashed into a tree along Interstate 95 last September.

Rivera was honored Saturday. His sister was presented with a painting and blanket, a token of appreciation for his service.

Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel praised the law enforcers participating in the annual event. "The Blue Knights are having a motorcycle ride like they do yearly and they're going to stop at the police departments and the sheriff's offices of all the fallen from the previous year here," he said. "It's a wonderful thing, and I just hope and pray their next ride is straight from here to Tallahassee, and nobody gives the ultimate sacrifice this year."

The foundation was created in honor of Broward County Sheriff Sgt. Chris Reyka, who was shot and killed while investigating two suspicious vehicles in a Walgreens parking lot back in 2007.

You know what they say about a man that has a big foot and long hair? Yeah, that they would make a really good Hercules. And while Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock has big feet, well he needed a little help in the hair department. Tonight The Rock is talking about how he became Hercules; everything from his feet, hair and to that fabulous body.

Combine a game show, a SoFlo chef and a race against the clock and what do you get? A good meal and a good show. There's a local chef who winning over Deco and he get's a chance to win over a national audience soon.
