2-car crash caused major traffic for afternoon commuters

Posted: Updated:

MIAMI (WSVN) -- A serious car accident on Interstate 95 caused a major traffic delay for drivers during rush hour, Monday.

Three lanes were blocked on the northbound lanes of I-95 just before S.R. 112 after, officials said, a car somehow landed on top of another car. "When I saw the commotion and I looked to the side and sure enough I saw one car underneath another one," said a witness.

The driver of the white Toyota was able to climb out of the driver side window. A witnessed said, "The vehicle on top did have the door open so the driver obviously climbed out of the vehicle."

The two drivers were transported with non-life threatening injuries to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Road Rangers were able to clean up the scene quickly and towed away the vehicles.

It is unknown how the accident occurred.
