PLANTATION, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police have arrested a man after he broke into a South Florida car dealership but left behind a critical clue.

Surveillance video at the Arion Motors in Plantation captured the burglars in action. A man was seen using a cell phone for light as he loaded up on keys to the inventory in his shirt. "It looks like they are looking for a certain file. We have files here from all the sales," said manager Jonathan Shamis.

The pair is seen looking around the business, looking through files, then gathering the files in a garbage can. "They have the title, and they have the car. They can easily jump the car and at least get like $500 or $600, so they can buy drugs and stuff or whatever they buy," said Shamis.

Shamis came in the next day and found a critical clue that one of the crooks left behind. "We found the drivers license when we came here," he said. "After we watched the video, and we watched all the surveillance, we noticed that was the license that belonged to the burglar."

Surveillance shows the man taking his phone out of his pants, and his ID falling from his pockets. "We were all laughing pretty hard. I mean, obviously we are upset, but it wasn't too hard for the cops to put this one together," said Salesman Danny Fleming.

Plantation Police arrested 21-year-old Travis Devonte Rice, who was oblivious that his ID fell from his pockets. To top it off, Rice posted pictures on Facebook the next day holding a car key in his hand. "I think the guy was very careless," said Shamis. "Maybe he thought that there wasn't any surveillance here. It says here, in big letters, all over the walls that this place is recorded. I would say the world's dumbest criminals."

Shamis said three cars were taken from the dealer. They do not have the cars yet but recuperated the car files.

Police continue to search for the second suspect who was involved in the burglary.

If you have any information on either of these suspects, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.

Some people are good at putting out fires. They're called firefighters. Others are good at baking pies. They're called bakers. But one man is excellent at both. He's a crusty firefighter, and we mean that in a really good way.
