Divergent - Fan Screening

Posted: Updated:

Shailene Woodley is on the edge of superstardom, but she's not forgetting the little people. She held a screening of "Divergent" for 400 lucky fans and raised $60,000 for her All It Takes charity.

Moviegoers were tested beforehand and divided into five sections in the theater. Sadly, we're not sure if everyone got out alive. That fan treatment is just another reason for fans to love Shailene and the rest of the "Divergent" cast.

Do you know what "Divergent" fans are called? They're called "Initiates." That's what Google says, anyway. But for us, they're just part of the mayhem that comes with any young adult franchise. We hope the cast has their earplugs ready.

In "Divergent," fitting in is half the battle. Knowing who's on your side means the difference between life and death.

This fast-paced action-adventure has a big cast, a cast that still doesn't know what they're in for. With 16 million copies of the book sold, "Divergent" fans are ready to go nuts.

Tony Goldwyn: "I keep hearing about that."

We just hope the actors are ready.

Ben Lloyd-Hughes: "No."

Christian Madsen: "Mmm, no." (laughs)

Theo James: "We haven't been exposed to them massively, so I really don't know."

Ansel Elgort: "I don't know, I guess a little bit."

Shailene Woodley: "I feel you just have to like approach it and whatever happens, happens. Can't think about it."

Maybe these guys are just being humble.

Ansel Elgort: "You just gotta go, I guess, sign a few autographs and it makes people's day, and I'm just lucky enough to be playing one of the characters in this movie, so hopefully I'm just take it with ease and try not to let it get to me."

That's the spirit! Looks like Initiates are in for a treat.

Miles Teller: "Yes. I mean, I've been waiting for that my whole career. It just came at a later point in life when it's now illegal but..."

Maggie Q: "We got a little of it on this trip. We did cross-country, a little trip over to L.A. and it was a trip for us."

Mekhi Phifer: "It was, it was, it was a lot of fun."

And speaking of trips, what could be better than traveling to a city you love?

Ben Lloyd-Hughes and Christian Madsen: "We love Miami!"

Ben Lloyd-Hughes: "It's so fun."

Christian Madsen: "Yeah."

To personally meet your fans and soak in the sun.

Ben Lloyd-Hughes: "We met some incredible people. We had a screening there and the fans were lovely.

Christian Madsen: "We've come from St. Louis, so it was 13 degrees, and then you fly to 90 degrees and it was incredible."

Almost as incredible as the fans themselves.

Ben Lloyd-Hughes: "For us we kept asking ourselves, 'Do they know it's just us?' We kept thinking they wanted Kate Winslet, Theo, Mekhi, but they were just so passionate about the book and the film that they were just delighted to meet anyone, and they took our breath away with how passionate they were and excited."

I'll never forget the endless summers I spent on the coast of North Carolina. My shoulders were always kissed by the sun, my hair was continually salty from the ocean and my one-piece, bright blue bathing suit was my constant companion.

The last time I had on a pair of overalls, I was miles from civilization with a whip in my hand, an hysterical co-worker by my side and five angry cowboys staring me down.

I don't remember dying, but I did. Twice. It was a chilly Fall morning in October at a dentist's office in Santa Fe. My mom had escorted me to what was supposed to be a regular wisdom teeth extraction appointment.

Sometimes, love can be hard to find in South Florida. The same can't be said for burgers, though. Tasty patties are everywhere. A new joint is offering up a unique take on this favorite comfort food. It's fresh, healthy and tastes like nothing you've tried before. Welcome to Burger Love.
