John Wiltshire, customer: “Once you walk through the door you feel like you’re in England.”

Fabrizio Cruz, customer: “The first thing I see is this beautiful chandelier, and I know I am somewhere else.”

Welcome to Oscar’s Tea Room and Gift Shop, an authentic English tea room with some added glam. It’s run by Kevin and Craig who moved to South Florida last year from England.

Kevin Ashdown: “We want you to walk in and feel like you’re at home, an English home. All of the gold is all hand painted.”

Tables are set for royalty with Victorian linens and fine China made by Kevin’s family.

Kevin Ashdown: “Everything is authentic. All the China is all brought from where we’re from in Stonke-on-Trent.”

You can settle in for a cup of tea and scones.

Kevin Ashdown: “We’ve got a very wide choice of teas and coffees all brought in from England.”

Or grab a group of friends hats and all for high tea.

Kevin Ashdown: “You can have as much coffee and teas of your choice, and also hors d’oeuvres and finger sandwiches.”

Craig: “I do a small selection of desserts instead of just one piece of cake. I cut up so they can try all different ones.”

Pay attention Craig’s homemade cakes are the cherry on top he makes eight to 10 sweet treats daily. Many of them traditional English desserts.

Craig: “This is a Victoria sponge, a deep sponge mix layered with strawberry jam and buttercream. This is one of my own creations. English recipe its a cherry and coconut cake.”

Richard Melanson, customer: “It comes down to everything being from scratch and being made here fresh. You can be here a couple of hours and you don’t realize it, until it’s gone by.”

All hail the Queen, the Brits sure know how to throw a good tea party.

You will need to make reservations for high tea. Oscar’s also serves lunch and dinner with items like fresh salads and English cornish pasties.
