Cuban Fury - Nick Frost

Posted: Updated:

Not everyone can have the gift of dance like Louis, but we can dare to dream. "Dancing with the Stars" may not be in Nick Frost's future, but that's OK. He's tearing it up in "Cuban Fury" and came to Miami on Friday and told me all about it.

Nick Frost has fought zombies, survived the end of the world, and now he's a salsa master in the film "Cuban Fury." Here in SoFlo we know all about salsa. Nick, unfortunately, doesn't.

Nick Frost: "Um, I had to become a dancer, so I danced. I trained for seven hours a day, every day, for seven months and, um, I think an hour into that process I perhaps made one of the biggest mistakes of my life."

Yeah, we hear you, Nick. Salsa is definitely a workout. A sexy one, in fact.

Nick enjoyed the role so much, he even stepped out on his wife for his new craft.

Nick Frost: Sometimes, when my wife goes out, I make sure that the car is not there and I go and put my shirt on and pretend to be a salsa master. Its like I'm cheating on my wife with a shirt."

Nick's British, so Deco wanted to know what Cuban fury means to him.

Nick Frost: "It's kinda dirty and a bit grimy and, uh, a little bit rude, and I kinda like it. I think, you know, the other form I learned was cross body, Los Angeles-style of Cuban salsa, which is quite prim and proper and, even though it looks technically more beautiful, I think it lacks the heart ... el corazón."

Nick's even thinking about showing off his skills in the 3-0-5.

Nick Frost: "Uh, I might be out tonight, somewhere like Mango's, anything with a kind of fruity Cuban vibe. All those clubs somewhere that outside perhaps there's a man who would let you hold a white python for $5."

Nick Frost: "Do you want to see my movie before it opens? Here's what you have to do." (crosses his eyes)

Thanks, Nick. E-mail your name, address, and daytime phone number to giveaways@decodrive.com and you could win tickets to the show April 17th in Aventura.

I'll never forget the endless summers I spent on the coast of North Carolina. My shoulders were always kissed by the sun, my hair was continually salty from the ocean and my one-piece, bright blue bathing suit was my constant companion.

I don't remember dying, but I did. Twice. It was a chilly Fall morning in October at a dentist's office in Santa Fe. My mom had escorted me to what was supposed to be a regular wisdom teeth extraction appointment.

Some people are good at putting out fires. They're called firefighters. Others are good at baking pies. They're called bakers. But one man is excellent at both. He's a crusty firefighter, and we mean that in a really good way.
