Draft Day - Jennifer Garner

Posted: Updated:

"Draft Day" isn't just about men fighting over the pigskin. Yeah, it also has some romance in it can you believe it? It's not just the love of the game it's cover your ears guys because this movie may even be kind of a chick flick. All around good gal and actress Jennifer Garner who stars in the film tells Deco why.

Draft day isn't just a man movie about football. Although, I do love me some testosterone.

It's also a chick flick. Don't take it from me take it from one of the women who stars in the film Jennifer Garner.

Jennifer Garner: "If we could not include the men in hearing this sentence. It is kind of a chick flick."

Garner Stars as the Cleveland Browns salary expert.

Shireen: "You play someone that is a number guru, and how did you research that? I find it very interesting."

Jennifer Garner: "I was so lucky because the head of the salary cap at the Cleveland Browns is a woman named Meg Rogers and I just followed her around and made her explain to me over and over, what she did and what everything meant. How she got her job and it's so much more complicated than I could have ever imagined."

She stars alongside Kevin Costner who plays the teams general manager:

Jennifer Garner: "It's about the behind the scenes part of football and your husband will be happy watching the references, and you will be happy watching the romance."

Shireen: "It's kind of a great date movie."

Jennifer Garner: "It's a great date movie."

Kev and Jen have an on-screen romance, but the flick, more importantly is about the politics and pressures involved during the NFLs big draft day.

Shireen: "Let's talk about football because you are from WU."

Jennifer Garner: "Yes."

Shireen: "WU the mountaineers."

Jennifer Garner: "It's everything."

Shireen: "So you really grew up watching football."

Jennifer Garner: "I grew up full-on in the marching band and never missed a game, in jr high and highschool."

Shireen: "Wait, what did you play in band?"

Jennifer Garner: "The saxophone. So I was like running with my sax to play the school song every time we got a touch down that's what I think of when i think of football."

The problem now is when Jen watches the NFL because she does, she thinks.

Jennifer Garner: "I always feel like they could use a band. They need a marching band and I volunteer."

If you're up for a night of fanfare, grab your plus one and enjoy America's favorite team sport.

Jennifer Garner: "It just shows football in the most positive light, and there's nothing but love for football in this movie."

When I got the assignment this week to do a story on VH1's new "Naked Dating" show for Deco Drive, I was beyond intrigued and not because I needed a date, either.

When I first heard that the Crop Top was back in style, I walked straight into my bedroom, stood in front of the mirror, lifted my shirt, turned to the side and stuck my gut out as far as it would go.

Mattie McDonald was one of the prettiest women I'd ever seen. She had light green eyes, dark brown hair and milky white skin. When she wafted by me, she smelled of lavender, honeysuckle and some other hypnotizing perfume I couldn't quite put my finger on. I spent a lot of my spare time daydreaming about her and not just because I wanted to know her. Ultimately, I wanted to be her.
