iPic Theaters

Posted: Updated:

Dinner and a movie; it's the mainstay of dating life. We're checking out a theater that promises a luxury cinematic experience. From the seats to the food to the service, iPic Theaters will make you feel like the star of the show. Deco's resident movie critic and professional popcorn eater, Shireen Sandoval, has the ticket.

"Gravity," starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, had some amazing special effects, but the folks behind iPic Theaters in Boca Raton are making their own movie magic.

Alex Reid: "We've designed the theater so every seat is the best seat in the house. There's no sort of vantage point."

The local multiplex? That's like riding in coach. Every seat here is first class.

Alex Reid: "You can't buy these in a store; we actually made these for our consumer. They fully recline. They're leather. They're very comfortable."

Don't worry. Once you get comfortable, you don't have to get up.

Alex Reid: "They come with a table, so you can eat while you watch, and a call button so if you want service, much like an airline, you press the button and our, we call them "ninja servers," come to you in the dark and ask you what you want."

Nosh on steak sliders and romaine spears, or just kick back with a cocktail and unlimited popcorn.

Alex Reid: "We've designed the menu so you can eat it in the dark, don't need cutlery, not many sauces so you don't drip, easy to eat with your fingers."

If stuffing your face through "American Hustle" isn't your thing, iPic has a restaurant right in the lobby. After dinner, head upstairs and enjoy the show.

Alex Reid: "iPic is a movie theater all about choices. We like to say you can have as little or as much service as you want when you come to iPic Theaters.

Other perks include reserved seating, a ladies' room to die for, and best of all, room to relax.

Alex Reid: "One of the reason peeps choose us over multiplex, because it's a far more intimate setting to watch a film. It's quieter, there's less people in here."

Mattie McDonald was one of the prettiest women I'd ever seen. She had light green eyes, dark brown hair and milky white skin. When she wafted by me, she smelled of lavender, honeysuckle and some other hypnotizing perfume I couldn't quite put my finger on. I spent a lot of my spare time daydreaming about her and not just because I wanted to know her. Ultimately, I wanted to be her.

When I walked out of the Hong Kong airport, the heat of the city slapped me so hard across the face, it was like a woman catching her cheating husband with a long-suspected mistress.

When I was the in the sixth grade, I used to style my hair in a long, hot dog curl. Not as in a ponytail; that would have been cute. Instead, I brushed it all forward as flat as I could get it and once it reached my forehead, I curled the entire thing upward to create mock bangs. Yeah, it was pretty horrible. If you don't believe me, check out the inset picture of the blog. That's me, in all my hair glory.Mind you, I wasn't trying to look bad on purpose. I just didn't know how to do my own h...

You know what they say about a man that has a big foot and long hair? Yeah, that they would make a really good Hercules. And while Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock has big feet, well he needed a little help in the hair department. Tonight The Rock is talking about how he became Hercules; everything from his feet, hair and to that fabulous body.

Combine a game show, a SoFlo chef and a race against the clock and what do you get? A good meal and a good show. There's a local chef who winning over Deco and he get's a chance to win over a national audience soon.
