A Haunted House 2

Posted: Updated:

If you're a screamer, then you'll love the new movie "A Haunted House 2." How'd you know I was a screamer? The movie is the sequel to the über-funny "A Haunted House." That means Marlon Wayans is back and scarier than ever. I caught up with the handsome man today at the W on South Beach to talk about all things funny. Seriously.

If you wanna laugh till you cry, "Haunted House 2" is a movie Marlon Wayans doesn't want you to miss.

Shireen: "When did you first know you were funny?"

Marlon Wayans: "I think when I kept getting kicked out of class. I was either funny or just really dumb. I was shy in pre-kinder. Then in kindergarten, after I had my first fight, I just kind of opened up and I was just silly, and that's what I've been doing."

The sequel, written by Marlon, pokes fun at scary movies like "Insidious," "The Conjuring" and "Sinister," to name a few.

This time around, Marlon's character Malcolm starts fresh with a new girlfriend, her two kids and their dream home.

Shireen: "When you are in Miami, is there anything you must see and must do?"

Marlon Wayans: "I must drink whatever and I must party wherever. I'm not big on the sun thing. Everyone is like, 'I gotta go to the beach,' and I'm like, 'I'm black enough.' I go to the beach and it makes my feet dryer. I go to the beach and it makes me look like I got '12 Years a Slave' feet."

I've been interviewing Marlon for years, and he's the real deal

Shireen: "They say comedians, for the most part, they can be very morose, or they're sad on the inside."

Marlon Wayans: "Yeah."

Shireen: "But you really don't seem like that type of comedian."

Marlon Wayans: "Agreeing."

Shireen: "What do you attribute that to? Something in you or part of being from the family you're from?"

Marlon Wayans: "I don't know, but as soon as this interview is over I'm going to the roof to jump off it."

Before he jumps, though...

Marlon Wayans: "You know, I got good grounding. My mom and dad are great people. My brothers and sisters are great people. I don't have a dark side like that. I love life. I like being happy. I like making people smile. I don't have a lot of pain, and that's one of the reasons I didn't do stand up for a long time."

Marlon has two career goals: to make people laugh and smile.

Marlon Wayans: "Then I realized, just because I don't have a dark perspective, don't mean I don't have a voice. That's why I go to crazy lengths to make people smile. I'll get naked and light myself on fire."

Shireen: "Can you do that now?"

Marlon Wayans: "I have a room up here."

Shireen: "Don't tempt you, right?"

Marlon Wayans: "And we can bring the cameras."

Unfortunately, we can't show you that video, but Marlon does have something he wants to tell Deco peeps:

Marlon Wayans: "Hey what's up? It's Marlon Wayans. If you want to see my new movie 'Haunted House 2' for free, then listen up."

Thanks, Marlon. Just e-mail your name, address, and daytime phone number to giveaways@decodrive.com and you could win.

When I got the assignment this week to do a story on VH1's new "Naked Dating" show for Deco Drive, I was beyond intrigued and not because I needed a date, either.

When I first heard that the Crop Top was back in style, I walked straight into my bedroom, stood in front of the mirror, lifted my shirt, turned to the side and stuck my gut out as far as it would go.

Mattie McDonald was one of the prettiest women I'd ever seen. She had light green eyes, dark brown hair and milky white skin. When she wafted by me, she smelled of lavender, honeysuckle and some other hypnotizing perfume I couldn't quite put my finger on. I spent a lot of my spare time daydreaming about her and not just because I wanted to know her. Ultimately, I wanted to be her.

It's time to loosen your belt while tightening your wallet. Miami Spice is back from Aug. 1 though Sept. 30. This year, Spice is changing things and keeping it simple. Three courses, and it doesn't matter where you go; the prices don't change, $23 for lunch and $39 for dinner.
