HIALEAH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A Hialeah Parks and Recreations Department employee was arrested and charged with unlawful sexual activity with minor.

Thirty-eight-year-old Erik Edward Blanco, according to investigators, had an unlawful relationship with a then 17-year-old female victim, a regular visitor and part-time volunteer at Bucky Dent Park. "She's under 18. She can't legally consent to a relationship with an adult, especially with a 38-year-old man," said Hialeah Police Detective Carl Zogby.

According to the police report, the two had oral consensual sex at least eight different times during the months of November and December of 2013, but officials said they were notified by the victim's parents earlier this month. Investigators said they had sex at closing time, around 9:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Police said the illegal sex happened near a playground, a place that is supposed to be a safe place for children. "I think I'm gonna change parks. With something like that, I don't feel safe," said park patron Lillian Paraza.

Blanco has been a City of Hialeah Parks and Rec employee since February of 1999. He was the Center Director at Bucky Dent Park. He is currently on a non-work status pending the termination of his employment. "He's a person of authority there at the park. He's a person of trust," said Zogby. "This has been a disappointment to his colleagues and to the city."

Blanco faces eight counts of sharing an inappropriate relationship with a minor.

Hialeah police are reviewing Blanco's and the victim's cell phone, as well as surveillance video that may be available from the park and any forensic information they are able to gather to build their case.

Blanco is being held on a $7,500 bond.

Miami is a city of vices and so is Sin City. Luckily, the 305 isn't as violent but we do love our vices. Shireen, what's your vice? Shoes, purses, lipgloss, anything that sparkles and shoes. Did I already say that? We also asked the cast of "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" what their vices are, from vino, cheese to Mexican food. You won't be disappointed.
