WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida bus driver is speaking out after he says a group of parents stormed his bus and beat him in front of children.

"Where they hit me, I still got pain in my shoulder, my ribs, my stomach," said Joseph Beauzile, "yeah, I still got pain."

Beauzile, a Palm Beach County bus driver, is still feeling the effects of the attack and wonders why it happened in the first place.

"I don't know why they come to me and do this to me," said Beauzile.

Last Friday at one of the stops in West Palm Beach, students reportedly started rushing off the bus. Beauzile closed the door and ordered the children to line up single file.

"I have to protect the kids, to protect the property of school district and protect myself, so I have to fight," he said.

This apparently agitated parents waiting outside for their children and that's when, investigators say two parents, Schacaurra Burns and Ryan Beckford, forced their way on to the bus and attacked Beauzile right in front of the young passengers.

"We were all crying and scared and somebody jumped out of the window, the emergency window," said a child passenger, Samantha St. Jean.

Now, other drivers are marching at school district headquarters demanding more be done to keep them safe. "What we want is safety, safety for the kids nothing else," shouted one bus driver.

Bus drivers spoke to reporters about the incident and their safety concerns. "Three parents attacking the driver, unless you have other parents and children on the bus, that's a safety issue and that's a big concern among the bus drivers," said bus driver and shop steward Jane Brown.

Officials notified the drivers an investigation is underway and arrests have been made.

"We take the safety of our drivers, our students; our employees very seriously," said Chief of Operations Mike Burke. "We have zero tolerance for that type of act."

Beckford and Burns are being held at the Palm Beach County jail.

Police are still searching for a third suspect in this case.

Some people are good at putting out fires. They're called firefighters. Others are good at baking pies. They're called bakers. But one man is excellent at both. He's a crusty firefighter, and we mean that in a really good way.
