You can do a lot of things at a bar: drink, eat, listen to music, and now at one Wynwood bar, you can watch some of your favorite classic movies on a big screen. 7’s Belkys Nerey grabs some popcorn for tonight’s Style File.

WSVN — Get in line for a new kind of movie experience. If you love the bar Gramps in Wynwood, well, meet Shirley, a new movie theater housed in the back room of Gramps.

Nayib Estefan, Secret Celluloid Society: “We’re actually Miami’s first revival theater. What it is, is basically a theater that plays older stuff.”

Every Sunday afternoon, Monday and Wednesday nights you can catch old classics and cult flicks on the big screen.

Adam Gersten, owner, Gramps: “Most of these movies, people my age, people younger have never had the opportunity to see these movies on a big screen.”

Nayib Estefan: “Everything from ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ to ‘Porky’s.’ Tonight we’re having a special 30th anniversary celebration for ‘Revenge of the Nerds.'”

Francesca Lacuesta: “I love the fact that I can finally see my favorite old movies on the big screen.”

At Shirley’s, everyone is encouraged to dress the part for the movie theme of the night.

Phillip Crandall: “This is one of the official Lambda Lambda Lambda sweaters. I wear it often, but there’s no better night than a night like tonight where we can celebrate the inclusiveness of everyone coming together and watching ‘Revenge of the Nerds.'”

And unlike a packed movie theater, you have a little more freedom to recite your favorite movie line or even sing along.

Otto Vonsch: “You get to laugh as loud as you want.”

Adam Gersten: “Our crowd is a creative crowd, and a crowd that likes to have a lot of fun.”

There’s free popcorn to munch on, and since Gramps is a bar, that means you can have a cocktail at this cinema.

Adam Gersten: “You can get a cocktail, craft spirits, craft beer. We’ll have food trucks rotating in and out, so you can get food.”

“Sure-ly” we know this movie night will have a happy ending for all.

Movie tickets cost anywhere from $7 to $10. The best way to keep up with what’s playing is to check the Gramps and Secret Celluloid Society Facebook pages.
