Pedestrian hit by car in Northwest Miami-Dade

NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A pedestrian found herself in the path of danger on a South Florida street after a car struck her.

Miami-Dade Police and Fire Rescue responded to the site where the woman was walking before she was hit, in the area of Northwest 117th Street and Seventh Avenue, at around 9:45 a.m., Tuesday. According to police, this was a single vehicle accident where a car hit a gate and injured the pedestrian.

The driver stayed to talk to investigators at the scene. The woman was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Her condition remains unknown.

Northwest Seventh Avenue was closed in the area for some time, but it has since reopened.
