Million Dollar Arm

Posted: Updated:

"Mad Men" shoots its final season this summer, and Jon Hamm's already moving on to his next big thing as a leading man sporting his million dollar charm in Disney's new feel-good film, "Million Dollar Arm."

It's an incredible true story and Hamm's telling Deco how making the movie changed him for the better.

Jon Hamm's a sport agent down on his luck in "Million Dollar Arm," so he heads to India looking for major league prospects, even if most people there have never heard of baseball. It's based on a crazy true story, and Hamm says it was cray-cray shooting it, too.

Jon Hamm: "When you're in the middle of Mumbai in this swirl of people, and smells, and sights, and heat and everything, you go, 'How does this work?'"

Jon Hamm: "You're standing next to a building that was built in, you know, the 1800s, and a Rolls-Royce goes by you and then a cow walks the other way. You just can't process like, like what is happening here?"

Things get crazier when J.B. brings two boys home. John's neighbor, Lake Bell, sees the error in his ways.

Lake Bell: "I definitely think my character's a voice of reason, but it comes with a firm hand."

Lake Bell: "I think he sort of goes into it thinking he's gonna change these guys' lives, but in the end, they sort of, they change his life."

And Jon found his time in India life-altering, too.

Jon Hamm: "The one thing that I really took away, and we had this experience in every city that we were in India, and kind of every experience we had in India was there's this beautiful sense of family and this beautiful sense of community. You know, it's a very, very crowded place, obviously, and the way that it works is that people kind of have to get along in small spaces. And the way that they do that is by being nice."

I'll never forget the endless summers I spent on the coast of North Carolina. My shoulders were always kissed by the sun, my hair was continually salty from the ocean and my one-piece, bright blue bathing suit was my constant companion.

The last time I had on a pair of overalls, I was miles from civilization with a whip in my hand, an hysterical co-worker by my side and five angry cowboys staring me down.

I don't remember dying, but I did. Twice. It was a chilly Fall morning in October at a dentist's office in Santa Fe. My mom had escorted me to what was supposed to be a regular wisdom teeth extraction appointment.

All things nineties might be making a come back, but when you can do something better the second time around, why not? Don't bother dusting off those jazzersize tapes, Deco's Liz Nagy got into gear for a new transformer-style workout that takes aerobics to another level.

Brosnan. Pierce Brosnan. OK, so it doesn't have the same ring to it, but you know who we are talking about. The former Bond guy is back at it in his new movie "The November Man." He's grabbing guns and on the run killing bad guys.
