Fox Party

Posted: Updated:

Well, Deco's staying the same, but there's a lot of new shows coming to Fox this fall. That explains the huge party Fox threw in New York last night. Tons of new and old celebrities stepped out on the red carpet to boast about their new shows.

The Fox family got their party on last night. "Glee's" Darren Criss had everyone moving and grooving.

Fox brought their stars to the Big Apple to unveil its new 2014 fall TV lineup. That's the star-studded cast of the new show "Empire," about a family that owns a record label.

Taraji P Henson: "It is literally like a modern-day 'King Lear.'"

These guys aren't the only new kids on the Fox block. "Backstrom" is about a bunch of dysfunctional detectives, starring some familiar faces.

Rainn Wilson: "It's not a procedural crime show at all. It's a character show about kind of a big weird dysfunctional family with the worst dad possible at the center."

Also joining the newbie bunch, "Red Band Society."

Charlie Rowe: "A coming-of-age story about these kids in a hospital."

Octavia Spencer: "You laugh, you cry. I find it hard to say we're a drama or a comedy. We're somewhere in the middle of that."

Everyone's excited for "Gotham," especially Batman fans.

Ben McKenzie: "When you're dealing with a fan base this rabid and enthusiastic as the Batman fanbase, you're setting a high bar, and we're excited about that."

From the world of ancient Egypt in "Hieroglyph," to a world where only one man lives in the new funny show "Last Man on Earth."

Will Forte: "I can't really say, first of all, because we haven't actually shot it yet, which is funny."

And who can forget the world of a stand-up comic in "Mulaney?"

Martin Short: "Why am I doing this show?"

There seems to be a new show for everyone, but if you're a sucker for Fox's existing shows, don't worry: "Glee" and "Bones" have upcoming season finales.

Chord Overstreet: "It's kinda surreal that it's all winding down."

Meanwhile, "Sleepy Hollow" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" will both be back with season two.

Terry Crews: "It feels good, season two. I mean, what can you say? 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' is one of the best things I have ever been involved with in my whole life."

When I got the assignment this week to do a story on VH1's new "Naked Dating" show for Deco Drive, I was beyond intrigued and not because I needed a date, either.

When I first heard that the Crop Top was back in style, I walked straight into my bedroom, stood in front of the mirror, lifted my shirt, turned to the side and stuck my gut out as far as it would go.

Mattie McDonald was one of the prettiest women I'd ever seen. She had light green eyes, dark brown hair and milky white skin. When she wafted by me, she smelled of lavender, honeysuckle and some other hypnotizing perfume I couldn't quite put my finger on. I spent a lot of my spare time daydreaming about her and not just because I wanted to know her. Ultimately, I wanted to be her.

There's a new restaurant that has everyone buzzing, and it's barely been open a month. Already, Drunken Dragon's packing them in night after night, offering authentic Korean barbecue right in the heart of South Beach. But where, exactly?
