Tony Awards Recap

Posted: Updated:

Last night's Tony Awards had Neil Patrick Harris in drag. A winner with more statues than she could carry. And a sexy Aussie in charge of it all.

The Tony Awards started off with a bang with host Hugh Jackman. The actor opened up the show with a four minute number.

Cast members from nominated shows like "Aladdin" and "Les Misérables" joined the actor for his performance.

The Aussie host spent the night proving he's no stranger to the Broadway stage. He tap danced along side the cast of After Midnight," and showed off his rapping skills with LL Coool J and T.I.

Audience members were lucky enough to get a taste of some Broadway shows. Adele Dazeem belted out a piece from the musical "If-Then."

And Neil Patrick Harris walked around in heels while singing a song from "Hedwig and the Angry Inch," Doogie picked up a Tony for that performance.

The "How I Met Your Mother" star couldn't believe how far he'd come since hosting the award show just last year.

Actor Bryan Cranston was surprised to be taking home the award for best actor for his performance in "All The Way."

Actress Audra Mcdonald stole the show with six awards. She was moved to tears while receiving a standing ovation.

The big winners of the night went to "a Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder" for best musical and the award for best play went to "All The Way."

Big, bouncing, beautiful butts: that's what pop culture is currently obsessed with. I can't blame people, though. I mean, I get it. I love JLo's luscious curves, Kim Kardashian's arguably more-than-ample derriere, Miley Cyrus' terrific, tail-twerking ways; I'm even warming up to Nicki Minaj's booty-popping song and video, "Anaconda."

I'll never forget the endless summers I spent on the coast of North Carolina. My shoulders were always kissed by the sun, my hair was continually salty from the ocean and my one-piece, bright blue bathing suit was my constant companion.
