SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police have arrested four men after a South Florida couple was ambushed by armed robbers as they sat on their porch.

A husband and wife are lucky to be alive after they were the victims of an armed robbery in Southwest Miami-Dade, Monday morning.

According to Miami-Dade Police, just after midnight, a woman and her husband were sitting on their porch at the BCC Apartments complex in Cutler Bay when four masked men, armed with guns, approached the couple. Police said the men robbed the victims and even fired shots at them. However, no one was injured. The crooks then fled the scene with the victim's wallet.

"They must have scoped us out from somewhere," said the female victim. "They want money. They said, 'Give it up, give it up.' I told them, 'I ain't got none.'"

Police issued a BOLO and spotted the suspects' getaway vehicle, just blocks away from the scene, and arrested the four men. Inside the car, officials found several guns, along with the victim's wallet.

"They shot towards my boyfriend. They shot towards him, but they dropped the gun. They put the gun back up to shoot at me," said the female victim.

The suspects were taken into custody without incident. Their names have not been released, and police have not filed formal charges.

The victim said she has lived in the neighborhood for 29 years but does not know the suspects. "They came with guns, four of them had guns," she said. "I was gonna run upstairs, and they told me, if I run they're going to shoot me in my back."

The victim's daughter said, "I'm happy that she's with me right now because her life could have been taken away for some foolishness, and they need to stop the crime."

"They could've killed me out here and my children ... arranged to have my funeral and stuff," said the female victim.

The family is just thankful to see another day. "I'm alive. Yup, God was just on my side," said the female victim.

The victim said she is not coming out on her porch anytime soon and will be speaking to the apartment complex about upgrading security and adding surveillance cameras.
