MIAMI -- As the U.S. kicks off their quest for a World Cup, fans in South Florida have brought out the fandemonium in a big way.

Several hundred fans packed Fado Irish Pub in Mary Brickell Village to cheer on Team USA. "Thousands of fans in Miami," said Eric Corey of the Miami Chapter of the American Outlaws. "In my opinion, internationally, this is just the best of them because these people will not stop singing, not stop chanting, even if we go down a goal or two. They will not stop."

The American Outlaws, a large group of supporters for Team USA, also has their own goal during the World Cup. "Our goal today is that the people in Rio, the people in Brazil, hear us today," said Corey.

"Words cannot describe it, to be here," said Team USA fan Humberto Delaosa. "It's awesome. It's the best country in the world. We're blessed to be here. I'm honored to be here repping red, white and blue. It's the best, it's the best."

Clint Dempsey scored in the first 32 seconds for Team USA in their opener versus Ghana, and the team continued to hold that lead. Team USA was out for payback after two losses to Ghana in previous World Cup meetings.

Miami Heat player Lebron James tweeted: "Now that's how you start a match!! Clint Dempsey goal."

Vice President Joe Biden also tweeted a picture of him and two Team USA players.

Eighty minutes later, Ghana scored a goal, but in minutes John Brooks scored a goal for Team USA.

Team USA fan Evan Sollecito said, "I'm so glad they pulled it off, so glad, so go USA."

Fado Pub was definitely the place to be with two South Floridians on Team USA, Alejandro Bedoya from Weston and Jozy Altidore who grew up in Coral Springs.

Jennifer Debraja, who was at Fado supporting her friend Alejandro Bedoya, said, "It's really rewarding to see so many people so supportive of someone that I have known and I've seen go through this whole process. I'm really proud of him."

After winning 2-1,Team USA now has to face Portugal and then Germany.

Corey said, "I'll tell you right now, they heard us in Brazil. I guarantee they heard us in Brazil. If you haven't heard us yet, get down here for the next one."

Fans are advised to arrive early to viewing parties.
